Introduction to BRIDGES and D-START

Under the umbrella of BRIDGES, the International Diabetes Federaton is now offering 2 financing programmes to support projects in translational research.

BRIDGES

Now in its 3rd Round, BRIDGES is dedicated to projects around the world testing and implementing innovative research in diabetes. BRIDGES is targeted at applicants who already have an experience in designing and implementing projects in translational research and/or education. BRIDGES is extremely competitive (9 projects out of 147 applications were selected for the 2nd round)

D-START

New IDF initiative to support the development of projects in low- and middle-income countries (LMCs) which have less exposure to international funding. D-START offers the opportunity to implement a state of the art study design in primary prevention of diabetes developed by a recognized expert and under the supervision of an Advisory Board made of world experts.

We encourage you to read all the available documents on each programme before starting to complete an application form. They have been conceived to help you:

  • Analyze if the project you are planning is suitable for BRIDGES and/or D-START
  • Anticipate which programme (BRIDGES or D-START) is the most suitable for your organization

Should you have any question concerning which programme is the most suitable for your organisation, please contact: bridges@idf.org.
